May I suggest an alternative?
https://products.franmar.com/products/lead-based-paint-stripper-lead-
out?_pos=1&_sid=bad8dd9a9&_ss=r

This version has a powder you stir in to encapsulate lead, good for
about 24 hours so I only make about 2 cup at a time. nice not to worry
about lead dust in air. I have a 140+ year old house. If lead is not
an issue there is a non-lead version cheaper. They tell you to
ventilate but doesn't stink like methylene chloride.

I thought the meth problem was well known for more than a generation,
the smell should be your first clue.

Methylene chloride is nasty. Nobody needs to tell you that. Its gloopy
and burns anything it touches and only amateurs used it anyway.

I have scrapers. Boy howdy do I have scrapers hahaahahahaha

Yes, methylene chloride can be dangerous if used improperly, but banning
it is an over-reaction. I don't do a lot of paint stripping but I have
used it a number of times, always outdoors, with protective clothing and
glasses, and will say that it works much better then other chemicals. I
have actually purchased it at estate sales, because it is quite hard to
find in stores anymore.

Bob Flexner, the well-known author, has been highly critical of the
banning of methylene chloride.

My problem with scrapers used dry is lead dust, not the way I want to
go.

Speaking of 'lead dust', does anyone have a source, domestic or foreign
for white or red lead.  It used to come from a paint factory here in
Madison, WI.  We used it for machine packing and sealing, it was the
best.  I have used almost all of my last ten pound can.

Thanks
God bless,
Mike

Might I ask why you are looking? I can't think of an application where red lead
and white lead are interchangable...

Neither is terribly difficult to make from lead metal, but neither is safe to
make or handle. Mishandling either uncompounded is a fast route to lead
poisoning without proper PPE and training.

Last I checked (not too many years ago) both are available from chemical houses
in any quantity you want. Artist pigment houses also sell both in small
quantities (figure 100g/4oz increments, or so) or large, at art supply prices,
for artists that use raw pigments.

I think I remember reading that respirators are ineffective against
methylene chloride fumes.

Respirators are effective only as a secondary measure or for low,
nuisance levels of the vapor. The only recommended protection against
the vapor is to work in a fully ventilated area.

because a Serb shot an Austrian in Bosnia, Germany invaded Belgium.
