Genealogical research revealed I was decended from 3 separate lines of olde
worlde cabinet makers.
All three lines also showed an alarming number of amputees. As a
stickler for tradtion I have built
myself a shop on the north shore of Lake Erie in the lee of Long Point Bay.
Here I indulge a penchant for
self mutilation and bass fishing.
Currently I am researching the history of Peck, Stow & Wilcox for inclusion
in my family history newsletter.
My gr-grandfather and two brothers started out as polishers in the East
Berlin CT plant in about 1892.
Two brothers subsequently died of heart attacks in their 30's.
I once read a fascinating article on the effects of excess iron on the human
heart, not good if cardiac
problems run in the genes. Anyway I digress, the third brother retired
as foreman of the plier works
in Plantsville CT in the 1940s. It goes without saying that I have a
growing collection of PEXTO items
which regularly mangle my digits in "The Shoppe".
