GGs:
Re-bio necessary on my return to the Porch:
First, let me apologize for my rather swift, unannounced departure earlier
this year; this was due to significant job changes. I define 'significant'
as resulting in more than a week between entering shop and soaking up tool
aura, or keeping a nice set of anniversary-gifted Sorby London-patterns
languishing on the bench without benefit of SS for over two months.
Actually:
1. I changed my real job (now with MITRE corp - great outfit),
2. Changed my Reserve job (now principle operations/training guy for 700+
person helicopter battalion), and also...
3. Rebuilt bay window with Victorian trim,
4. Tackled a new hardwood floor for the LR/DR (with hand tools - thanks to
Mr. PortaNail), and;
5. Fabricated/installed 200' lf of handplaned two-piece 6" baseboards.
SWMBO 'allowed' me to bid against commercial floor mechanics (I won), and
kept track of promised cost and schedule (I lost). Minor success was when I
convinced her that job would require set of four Henry Taylor cranked neck
paring chisels to finish flush-trimming four hardwood bungs on stairs. My
one regret is that I could not find the longer version for sale anymore.
Now that it looks like I can contribute again, rather than simply stealing
tool-enriched oxygen, I'm back in time for Monday.
