Welcome back MIke.  Retired 10 years, shop on a lake.  Sounds pretty good.

A question for you - I took a Ralph course perhaps 18-20 years ago and I don't
remember him talking about thinning wood by hand.  Could you give a description
of how you do it?  And how thin it is?  And what species you use?
