I have a couple questions regarding a Sandusky 89 that I acquired at
garage sale. I am guessing it is a rabbit plane. It is in nice shape
but is missing what I imagine is a small blade and housing set
perpendicular to the main blade. I would think it's used to clean up
the corner on a rabbit. It has been replaced by a 'home made' blade
that is merely fastened to the side. As it is out of line with the edge
of the main iron, I'll have to fashion up something different. What
did the original blade, mounting and locking piece look like? Anyone
have parts available? What's the history, value, hints on using, etc.?
The iron came out fantastic after I used the Scary Sharp (TM) method,
but I would like to get this into a position of being able to use it as
     designed...

     BIO...

Work at Hewlett-Packard in support sales to keep me in shavings (wood
and metal) Collect and restore (or build) antique furniture, and
Charley Brown sports cars. A couple of homeless TR4s in need of lots
of TLC are keeping me occupied at present. Have a shop full of
millwork from an old mansion to put in my house. Very fond of SHARP
     tools...
