A Complete Set Of Millers Falls No 106 Carving Tools & Box. This all
weighs 10 1/2 oz unboxed.  The tools are in good condition and were
lightly cleaned.  All the blades are good save for a little staining on
the back of C skew chisel and one tiny dot of pitting on the inside of
the E gouge sweep.  The handle finish on all of them is near perfect
other than a little light funky.  The box is in fair condition.  That
has some old tape repairs to the lid and bottom and the paper covering
is worn in a few spots. There are some light doodles on the inside of
the lid. These ain't pristine, but they sure ain't bad, and these
complete sets are sure getting few and far between, at least around
here. $35.00

Genuine Plumb Hammer Poll Carpenters Adze Head .  Measuring 10 1/2" long
(straight across), the edge is 4 1/2" wide, and this weighs 2 lbs 10 1/4
oz unboxed.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some
overall light pitting and patina going.  The blade has some light
pitting and frosting.  The edge is fairly good save for one small chip.
The sides are slightly beveled there, but that's how this guy was made.
The hammer poll is good.  The eye has a little funky on the side, but
it's solid with no cracks.  This ain't the prettiest, but it is a
quality tool that will get the job done.  $32.00

Vintage Cast Iron E C Stearns Style File Handle.  Measuring 4 15/16"
long and this weighs 4 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is some wear
to the finish and it's down to about 50%.  The webbing is good with no
cracks.  The clamp and screw are good, the screw doesn't come all the
way out (common problem with these guys), but it closes tight.  This
ain't minty but it's better than most of these that I have been seeing
lately.   $22.00

Vintage Erie Tool Works 4 lb Stone Mason Hammer Head.  Measuring 5"
long, the faces are 1 7/16" square, and this weighs 3 lbs 15 1/2 oz
unboxed.  The Erie Tool Works was founded in 1902 and continued working
under that name until 1959.  This is a forged head.  This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall light patina.  Both
faces have some dings and wear and the one has a small chip on the one
side.  The punched eye has some crusty on the inside and some dinging on
the inside at the top, but it's solid.  This ain't pristine, but it's a
solid tool that still will get the job done.  $18.00

Warwood Bell System 3 lb Straight Peen Linesman Hammer.  Measuring 15
5/8" overall, the head is 5 13/16" long, the face is 1 3/8" in diameter,
the peen is 1 9/16" high, and this weighs 3 lbs 12 oz unboxed.  Warwood
is a Wheeling WV hammer and tool maker.  The Bell System was broken up
back in 1982 and my guess is that this is from the 1970's.  This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  These guys were never
finished off real pretty like to start with.  There is some either
pitting or corrosion on the top back by the peen.  The face is good
other than some dings.  The peen is also good save for a little wear at
the top.  The handle looks to be original to the top.  That does have
some roughness under the eye, but unless you are one of those fools who
couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a bulldozer, that won't be a
problem.  There are also some dings and few tiny bits of paint. The head
is on tight, at least setting here.  This ain't minty, but it's a
quality tool that will get the job done.  $20.00

Vintage Plumb Wood Hewing Hatchet Or Axe.  Measuring 15" overall, the
head is 5 13/16" long (across the center), the edge is 4 7/16" high
(straight across), and this weighs 2 lbs 5 oz unboxed.  This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  The head has some overall frosting,
some spots of light pitting, and some dings.  The back has some frosting
in the working area, but nothing too bad.  The edge is fairly good save
for one chipped spot.  The poll does have some chipping all around.  The
eye is good with no cracks that I can see.  The handle is old and might
be the original one.  That has some dings and stains, but it's solid,
and the head is on tight.  This ain't pristine, but it's a quality tool
that will get the job done.  $45.00

Vintage Small Brass Head Ball Peen Hammer.  Measuring 4 3/4" overall,
the head is 1 1/2" long, the face is 11/16" in diameter, the peen is
5/8" in diameter, and this weighs 6 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the
maker.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There are some
dings on the sides of the head.  The face and peen both have some
overall dinging and I did run a file over some mushrooming around the
face.  The steel handle is good save for some frosting.  The head
wiggles a touch, but does not come off.  This ain't the prettiest, but
it's a neat little hammer that will get the job done.  $15.00

2 7/8" in diameter, and this weighs 8 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to
the maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  There
are a few dings and some wear, but overall nothing too bad.  The top
also has some dings and the tip is good.  This ain't minty, but these
Lignum ones are sure getting hard to come by, at least around here.  $18.00

overall nothing too bad.  The edges are crispy and the notch is good
with no wear.  This ain't pristine, but it is a quality tool that will

long, the face is 11/16" wide, 7/8" high, the peen is 1" wide, and this
weighs 12 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  Somebody else dressed the face and
peen.  There is some overall patina on the body.  The face has some
scuffs, but is good as is the peen. The square punched eye has a little
crusty on the inside, but it's solid.  This ain't minty, but then tools
of this age and use, rarely are.  $17.00

long, the metal insert is 8 3/8" long, 9/16" wide, and this weighs 7 1/2
oz unboxed.  The body isn't signed as to the maker, the insert is an R.
Murphy.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The
brass has some light scuffs and wear.  Both screws work.  The handle
scales are some kind of man made material, possibly Bakelite.  They also
has some light dings and scuffs, but are on tight.  The steel insert
also has some light patina, but nothing too bad.  The edge will need
some work.  This ain't pristine, but it's a solid tool that will get the
job done. $35.00

weighs 8 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
not cleaned.  The segments are all clean except for one small spot of
rust.  All the rulings are readable and the edges are good.  The one end
joint is a little loose, but the rest hold tight.  This ain't pristine,
but if that's what you want, new ones are still out there for $120.

is 8 1/16" long and this all weighs 6 1/2 oz unboxed.  The case and the
tool are also marked U.S.C.E. which stands for the United States Army
Corps of Engineers.  This is in good condition and was not cleaned.  The
arms have a few tiny dings and there are some light scuffs on the
insides, but overall nothing too bad. All of the tips were blued and
those are good as well.  The adjuster works just like it should.  The
case is good with no wear and the latch works.  This is a great
collectible and very classy user tool as well.  $45.00

L S Starrett No 92 9 Inch Divider.  Measuring 9 1/2" long (from the tips
to the top of the joint) and this weighs 8 1/4 oz unboxed.  This is in
reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a little frosting,
but nothing too bad.  The joint is good.  The locking screw and the fine
adjuster nut work.  The inside nut on the fine adjuster arm moves a
little slow, but I did have it all the way off.  Both tips are good as
is the clamp on the removable tip.  This ain't pristine, but it sure
ain't bad, and it will get the job done for a whole lot less than a new
one will cost you.  $75.00

slight dip in the center looking from the side (like 1/32").  Looking
from the ends it's fairly straight. There are some tiny chips on the

older tool that will get the job done.  $45.00

TWO Mahogany Cased Slip Sharpening Stones.  The case on the left is 5
3/8" long, 2 11/16" wide, 1 5/16" high, the one on the left is 5 1/8"
long, 3 3/16" wide, 1 1/2" high, and this all weighs 1 lb 5 oz total
unboxed.  There is a user name stamped on the left one, but there are
not other marks on the cases and stones.  These are in reasonably good
condition and were cleaned.  The lighter stone feels like a fine or
extra fine and might be an Arkansas stone.  That measures 4 11/16" long,
2" high, 7/16" wide at the top, and 5/32" at the lower end.  The gray
stone feels like a medium grit.  That measures 4 1/2" long, 2 1/8" high,
5/8" wide at the top, and 5/16" at the lower end.  Both stones have some
stains.  The lighter stone does have a little wear in the center along
the top and lower edge.  The edges on the gray stone are good.  The case
on the left has some staining and dings.  The other case has some light
yellow paint on the inside of the left and on the inside of the base.

this weighs 4 lbs 4 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, this is
just marked No. 3.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There
is some wear to the original finish, a few small bits of paint, and some
light patina where the finish is worn.  The jaws are fairly good, but
don't close quite flush looking from the side.  The frame is good with
no cracks and the clamp works.  The bench clamp screw works as does the
pivot screw.  This sure ain't the prettiest peach in the patch, but it's
a solid tool that will get the job done.  $30.00

The brass has some staining.  The inside pins are present, but the side
pin is missing.  The one outer leg is slightly warped.  The joints are
good.  This ain't 100% minty, but it sure is in better condition than
most of these guys that I see.  $17.00

Not signed as to the maker.  This is in decent condition and was
cleaned.  There is some areas of light pitting.  The jaws are good.  The

edge to the top of the ferrule, the blade is 4 3/16" long, this is 10
9/16" overall, and this weighs 12 oz unboxed. This is in fair condition
and was cleaned.  The back has some overall light pitting, a few spots
of deeper pitting, and a few scuffs.  The top also has more of the
same.  The sides have some dings and I did run a file over some
mushrooming down by the ferrule.  The edge will need some work.  The
ferrule has some dings, but no cracks that I can see.  The handle has
some wear, a partial check on the front, and a sliver off of the back.
The striking button has lots of dings.  This ain't the prettiest, but
then these bigger sizes sure ain't getting any easier to find. $28.00

file over some mushrooming on the top.  The edge has a few dings and

patina.  Both handles have most of the original finish.  There is a
little wear and few tiny bits of paint.  The left one wiggles a hair.

Stanley Type 3 1897 Patent 10 inch Adjustable Bevel Square.  This weighs
6 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is a Type 3 and was made by Stanley between 1898
and 1903.  Justus A. Traut of New Britain, CT was granted Design Pat.
No. D26,768 on Mar. 16, 1897 for the design of this tool.  This is in
reasonably good condition for being at least 120 years old and was
cleaned.  The blade has some spots of frosting and there are some spots
of light pitting around the slot.  The edges and corners are good.  The
rosewood handle has some wear, dings, and some small user initials
stamped on the lower front.  The locking screw does it's job.  This
ain't minty, but Then tools of this age rarely are, and it will get the
job done.  $19.00

Small Hand Forged Slater Slate Splitting Chisel.  Measuring 6 3/8" long,
the edge is 1 15/16" wide, and this weighs 5 oz unboxed. Not signed as
to the maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
There is some frosting and a few spots of light pitting, but nothing too
bad.  The edge is good and was dressed recently.  There is some light
mushrooming on the sides.  The striking button has some light dings, but
no cracks that I can see.  I gotta say, that these small ones are sure
getting hard to find and especially in this kind of shape.  $19.00

W Johnson Newark NJ Plated Rosewood Mortising Gage Or Gauge.  This
weighs 9 oz unboxed.  This is in good condition and was cleaned. The
beam is good other than having a user name marked on both sides.  The
brass plate on the beam has some light wear.  The points could stand a
touch up, but there is lots to work with. The adjuster works and was
oiled.  The head also has the same name stamped on it.  The brass face
is good and the locking screw works and has the small brass shoe on the
inside.  This is not a very commonly found tool by this or any other
American maker.  $45.00

Early 19th Century Wooden Smoothing Plane.  The beech body is 7 9/16"
long, 2 15/16" wide, 2 1/2" high at the toe, the iron is 2 5/16" wide
across the edge, and this weighs 1 lb 13 1/4 oz unboxed.  The body isn't
signed and the iron is marked J Smith, which could be either Joseph or
John, both of whom worked in the early 1800's in Sheffield England.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  The body has some stains,
dings, and some checks on the toe and heel.  The sole has some wear in
the center, along with much stains and dings, and a few of the checks
travel down there as well.  The mouth is opened from wear.  The wedge is
oak and looks to be original to the tool.  That is good other than some
stains.  The iron is fairly clean on the steel face, save for some
frosting and a few spots of light pitting.  The iron body does have some
deeper pitting and some mushrooming at the top. This ain't minty, but
considering the age of the tool and how hard these guys got used, this
one sure ain't bad.  $65.00

are readable.  The tang is also good.  This ain't pristine, but these
guys are sure getting few and far between.  $15.00

head is 3 1/8" long, the face is 1/2" in diameter, the peen is 1/2"
high, and this weighs 3 3/4 oz total unboxed.  Not signed as to the
maker.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some
pitting on the head.  The face has some very light pitting and a small
chip on the underside.  The peen has some wear on the ends, but it's
good otherwise.  The handle looks to be original. That has a check under
the eye, some dings, stains, and there is a slice missing off of the
back.  The handle feels solid enough, as long as you don't try to drive
framing nails with this guy.  Just saying.  This ain't pretty or
perfect, but these guys sure do not show up very often.  $18.00

work with.  This ain't pristine, but this guy will get the job done.  $25.00

weighs 4 lbs 11 oz unboxed.  H F hot stamped his initials in a couple of
spots on the top and underside, so he either made this or worked with a
real bunch of tool thieves.  This is in decent condition and was
cleaned.  The head has some overall light patina, including some spots
of lead splash on the one side.  I did dress the edge and that is good
to go.  The striking end has some mushrooming, but nothing sharp.  The
handle is old.  That has the usual dings and stains, and there is a
little roughness at the end, but it's solid and on tight.  This ain't
pretty or perfect, but it will get the job done.  $19.00
