Christopher I am delighted to realize that Galoots are still active.
My old Del died of hardening of the drive.
When I hooked up the new machine I began receiving emails from the group again.
I thought the whole bunch had moved to FB(a pox on thee demon)
Instead my email setup was wrong. My fault.. I never understand how the thing
changes with each upgrade.
Anyway I am pleased to find you once again.
All your work to setup and manage a mailing list that I grew to love and missed
sorely is greatly appreciated.
I am happy knowing you are still willing to sort through the millions of posts.
Hyperbole perhaps, but they add up quickly.
Without this group I would have never gotten involved with restoring old tools
or experienced wandering the aisles of shows, flea markets, and the dark arcane
mysteries of ancient tool making.
Thank you very much

It'd be easy enough for me to dump everything that's in the database to
text format. I doubt you'll find a more complete set of posts than that,
but the tricky bit is figuring out how to keep the structure. Way back
when, mail clients were good about keeping threads and posters were good
about bottom posting, but neither is really true anymore, so keeping track
of the connectedness of a conversation is more challenging.

Anyway, a long time ago I wrote some scripts to dump a "threaded" and
"plain" version of the archives in plain text. If someone is interested in
such a thing, I can dig them up.

Cheers,

Chris
