That's an auto body hammer. Mine came in a tote tray with a bunch of "dolly"
backup blocks, so the ID is pretty definite.
Spots of body putty or paint would clinch it...

Hi Eric--- I'm betting it's more of a tinker's hammer than a body-man's hammer,
and of a design that pre-dates cars. I have a couple similar from my
grandfather's box that were well-worn when he died in the late 1950s. Good
hammer, though; when you need it, not much else will do.
