A larval galoot, aspiring someday to Full Galoolthood, I salute you from the
furthest western regions of the Great White North. I have worked in wood for
many years, recently - for reasons of sentiment, compact workspace, as well as
the dust and machine noise that troubleth my much better half - I have turned to
hand toolery.
My question is this - looking for a source of #3 brass screws for my box hinges.
Lee Valley used to carry them, I understand, but alas, no longer. Brusso makes
lovely little hinges and of course include screws in the package. But by the
time I ruin one and the Tomtens living in the shavings under my bench make off
with the other two I inevitably drop … you can see where this is going.
Ideally, it would be Robertson, Phillips in a pinch. Common is the cabinet
maker’s standard but at the bottom of my list.
Thank you for your consideration, kind Galoots.
Any advice very much appreciated.
Pete
