25609 kitty <kitty@s...> 1997‑09‑05 belated bio
I'm a water treatment plant operator who is currently 45 years old.
Ever hear of the dreaded acid mine drainage? It's an environmental
disaster that happens in abandoned mines. Well, we fix it.
I first wanted to learn to read because of the great Clyde Lammey, the
Popular Mechanics shop editor for many years in the 30's, 40's and early
50's. I distinctly remember looking at the plans and wanting to know
more. Aww, Clyde, I'm still waiting for somebody who can completely fill
your shoes.
I got a big break in the 7th grade when my school had a mandatory
woodshop class. My teacher forced everyone to learn to sharpen and use a
#4 before anything else was allowed. You were simply required to square
a board. I guess I was one of the few who didn't mind. Thank you Mr.
Farmer.
My only claim to national woodworking fame is in Scott Landis's The
Workbench Book where you can almost view the top of my head with actual
hair on it. In my hand is my trusty #3 which I wouldn't part with for
love or cash money. It's in the workbench sampler section.
