To meet Galootaclaus requirements, and to be friendly, here's a short bio
of myself:

I am a 26 year old mechanical engineer working in the Dallas area. I
graduated from Texas A&M in 2008, and have been working with gas turbine
engines since then. I am in the process of aquiring tools and equipment
for my shop (in my garage), and have taken a few detours. In around 2007 I
got a Heavy 10 Southbend Lathe, and have been restoring that since then. I
have replaced the three-phase motor with a single phase, taken it
completely apart, cleaned it, replaced the felt wicks in the apron, etc. I
damaged the clamshell bearings when disassembling it, and will hopefully
have it operational once I replace one more bearing.

Halfway through restoring it, I decided that the lawn tools were taking up
too much of the garage (the mower, fertilizer spreader, tiller,
wheelbarrow, etc.) and I needed a shed to store them. Now I'm one year
into building a timber frame 15x20' shed/barn without power tools (except
for lights, and using my truck to haul the lumber.) I have all of the
bents up, and am connecting the top of the bents on each side with 8x8x20'
sill beams.

I have always liked handtools, and have been hitting the local estate sales
that list tools for a while.

I read the Old Tools digest every day, and enjoy learning from it, and
seeing what others are doing. From recent messages, I've been inspired to
keep an eye out for cheap flare nuts! I hope this meets the requirements,
but let me know if you have any questions about me, my projects, etc.

Regards,

Jesse Walker
