153068 "Richard Morony @(:^]#" <popeye91@v...> 2005‑12‑04 BIO-Attn: CSwingley
GG

In perusing the Archive I noticed that my bio is still not showing
up, so here goes, again.

My name is Richard Morony and I live in Southern Illinois, about
an hour and a half east and south of St. Louis. I'm 45, Irish,
with hair all over me except the top of my head. (Tell me God
does'nt have a sense of humor.)

One son, 22, an E-5 in the Army on his second hitch in Iraq. I
have a wonderful wife and twin step-children still in High School.

My resume reads like Louis LaMours. The years have not alway's
been kind, but they have been interesting. I've been around
construction off and on for almost 30 years but never really got
past the 2x4, plywood and nail gun stage. Have ALWAY'S carried a
100 1/2 copy in my pouch and a transitional Liberty Bell plane in
my toolbox.

I am an incorrigable pack rat recyclist. I get almost perverse
pleasure turning throw aways into useful stuff. One of my former
bosses alway's thought I was nuts hauling off scrap from jobs, but
it pays off! I've got a pine church pew thats well over 100 yrs.
old that has a lovely green cast to it that'll make a couple of
cool totes I think.

Hi, my name is Richard and I'm a bottom feeder. (Alway's did think
we sound like an AA meeting at times.) I can't afford the pristine
stuff, and would'nt want it if I could. 'Tis nobler to rescue the
rusty, nasty semi-derelict and bring it back to useful life I say.

In the last year or so of my old tool sickness my delirium to amass
anything I could get my hands on has subsided somewhat and am trying
to fill out my toolchest with a well rounded ensemble. (Lots and
lots of way's not to say the C word.)

Matter of fact, can't seem to locate a modest priced USER #8 in my
area. Anyone out there wanna do some trading?

Am sitting in fromt of the TV watching DaVinci Tech on the History
Channel. If you can, check it out. Stuff like working models of
his water powered gang saw.

The thread on user/collector/time constraint reminded me about a
pair of maker made tongue and groove planes out in the shop. Will
post pictures tomorrow. Pretty pungent examples of "use what
works".

Spent the day making base and cove moldings olut of ripped tuba4's
for a customer to keep him from putting up fugly 1x4's for trim in
beuty shop we're installing. Sawdust sucks!!

OT content: Hit a 1st of the month flea while retreiving r^&$#er
bits this morning and got a guy holding a Stanley #97 slitting
gauge. What's it worth fella's? Bought a couple of keyholes
for a buck and a half.

I saw two smallish horn beam woodies in very nice shape for $20
apiece. They appear to be US made, horms are not near as big as
the ones you buy new in the catalogs. Did I screw up letting them
go?

Have a good week!
