Hi All! I've been lurking for a couple of months...
but I just couldn't stay in the gangway any longer, so
I figured I'd step up to the porch and show myself.

I've been galootin' for about ten years, maybe not as
much as a collector, as all my tools are users, and
over half of them I made myself, but in principle.(I
once re-sawed a 1/2"x3"x4'figured maple board with a
coping saw!) I just moved to Fort Worth from chicago,
and will be moving to New Orleans next Monday, so Ive
been away from my shop:-(( which is absent of tailed
apprentices!)
I have been a "free"-lance draftsman for the last six
yrs. All my drafting was done by hand, so Ive not had
to learn auto-cad till just now. I've been lucky, All
my equipment is vintage, except the *l*ctr*c eraser,
but what are you gonna do?
Would like to post a list of some of my favorite Old
tools from my box various braces, breast drills, files
and such, but I'm away from my inventory, and I don't
want to come off as a stroker!
To cap this all off I'd just like to add that I have
found the wisdom of the porch to be of the utmost
value, when I get get my furniture/design/guitar
studio up and running in New Orleans I'll be counting
on the porch for guidance that's for sure!
Just thought I'd pass this on, there's book called
"The Elements of Style" it's an interior design
referrence book which covers interior and exterior
architectural detailing from the days of leather
hinges to present. It's about $60 but, I would think
it a must for anyone even considering making
furniture. Have fun!!
