Hi all:
Being new will have to begin with bio as follows:
Age 58
Retired AT&T
Living in New Bern, NC
Married, three grown children, 3 grandchildren in NJ & NY.
Interests:
        1. Computers
        2. Old Tools, primarily collecting old folding rules, small and easy to
transport, cost within retired folks budget.
        3. Old tools, using, Have number of wood molding planes and attempt
to use
as many as possible to learn how old carpenters worked the wood.
Still trying
to learn how to use the Stanley 45 without much luck.
        4. Old tool boxes. Now have 4 and in process of re-habing them to
original
condition, if possible. Will attempt to fill with tools of the
period and
maybe sell or keep, depending on financial outlay. One purchased several
weeks ago had twenty three tools in it. 20 Molding planes, 1 plow
plane in
very nice shape and 2 wood boring tools. Box had been painted a
hideous light
green inside and out and have started to remove paint. Will take
better part
of a month to complete paint removal alone.
        5. Depression Glass collection.
        6. Antique telephone collection which as of last week contains a period
telephone booth which am also rehabing. Booth is 7'6" and weighs
over 400
pounds and will present a challenge to finish.
        7. Auction junky - anywhere from Maine to Florida is ok.
        8.Keep wife happy.

Number 8 seems to be the most active with all other mainly in numberical
order of
preference. Spare time also at a premium and includes travel etc etc.

Have started with neighbor an antique tool collecting group in Eastern N.C.
in June.
Group is call Coastal Carolina Tool Collecting Club (CCTCC) for short.
Currently have
abt 15 - 20 members, depending on weather. Have formal meetings bi-monthly
which include swap session, meeting and some type program, discussion or
display. Hopefully
will increase in numbers as time goes on. Group no specifically for tool
collectors, but includes wood workers as well.

Well that's my bio, hope to be able to exchange info etc in this group and
looking
forward to infomation exchange opportunities.
