ok, ok, mea culpa. I'm one of the fifty or so lurkers who have been
duly chastised.
My name is Bill Taylor. I work for NASA LeRCin the Launch Vehicle
Project Office's Denver Resident Office. Yes, rocket scientists are
not all normites. I was transferred to Denver this summer, so I am
still trying to find out where everything is. Does any body out there
have any recommendations for good flea markets, antique shops and
other sources of old tools, they would care to recommend? We live in
Elizabeth, which is south and east of Denver.
I come by my wood working interest though genetics, my grandfather was
a carpenter and my father did wooodworking as a hobby. I got my first
Stanley hammer at age 5, it is in dire need of a handle replacement
now. Our new house will finally allow me to have a shop, one stall in
a three car garage, unheated at the moment, I have to complete
finishing the basement. I am interested in hand tools mostly because
my three daughters cannot and will not be excluded from making sawdust
and shavings with their dad, and I feel a lot safer if they are not
around too many power tools.
As far as acquiring tools, I am just now moving beyond acquiring the
necessities for house maintenance and am looking forward to filling a
shop with good tools. I look forward to continuing to particpate in
this group, and hope that some of you will find my $0.02 worth to be
worth at least that much.
Thanks
