-186 Tom &Sara Dugan <dugan@m...> 1970‑01‑01 Back on the net! Finally!

Greetings folks!

Some of you may remember me from rec.norm, which I was fairly active on at
my last
job. But I left that in 12/94, so it's been faily quiet for me for many
moons. My
new job doesn't have a news server, and my newserver AND mail server
connections were
hosed here on my home account for the longest time, but we're set now.
Thanks to all
you guys who pointed me to this list at the M-WTCA meeting in York PA in
January.

The subscription reply said to include a short bio, so here goes (I'll keep
it tool related):

I started collecting hand tools to use, and that's still my primary excuse
to go
on the hunt. I did some collecting briefly about 15 years ago, then quit until I
started reading rec.norm when? '92? '93? So since then I've been collecting
one or
(usually) more of anything I tell myself I may ever have the need to use.

I actually do use them, although lately not as often as I ought. I have found a
place here in the D.C. area where I can freely proselytize - the Alexandria
Seaport
Foundation boat shop, where I volunteer one night a week. A great place to
hang with
like-minded people, if I may put in a plug. In fact, I'm teaching a course there
on the care and use of hand tools in March. I remember a number of folks
(you know
who you are) mentioned that they'd be interested in such a course, when I first
kicked the idea around in '94. Maybe I'll make a more formal announcement in
a couple
of weeks.

OK, enough. Glad to be back in the group after so long. Can't wait to join in!

Tom

PS: You probably won't hear from Sara, although she has been known to
contact some
members of this group around birthdays and Christmases :^) (and she
says "hi")
